图书馆

中央美术学院图书馆建筑馆历史悠久，是国内藏书最多的馆舍最大、藏书最多的美术专业图片馆，建筑面积近5000平方米。截止到2000年底，馆藏图书资料已逾30万册（页），并形成了以中外美术专业书刊为主、社会科学类图书为辅的藏书特色。特藏图书资料有木版年画、插图本线装古籍、汉代石刻画像拓片、历代碑贴、原拓印谱等，欧美、日本等国出版的原文美术专业图书、精印画页也占有很大比例。本馆是国内美术院校中少数几所享受国家划拔文科专款的图书馆之一。此外，每年还接受大量国内外社会团体、出版事业单位、社会贤达及本院教师的赠送，图书为源丰富了，馆藏资源深厚。
本馆现设有艺术图书、社科书刊、多媒体、社科专款图书阅览室，基本上采取开架、半开架的借阅方
式，图书流通已全部实现自动化管理，并设有局域网，采集中外美术信息，提供电子图书阅读，较高程度地满足读者需求。

The Library

The library of the Central Academy of Fine Arts has had a long history. As the largest professional library in China with a richest collection of art books,its building occupies an area of 5, 000 square meters. By the end of 2000, it has made a coliection of almost 300, 000 books with the characteristics of collecting fine art books and magazines published both at home and abroad as well as books of social sciences. A special coliection includes wood biock new years pictures, string-bound ancient books with illustrations, rubbings from stone-engraved portraits, tablets of various dynasties, the first hand copies from engraved seals and others. A high ratio of coliections was the fine art books and top quality prints of original artworks published in Europe, American and lapan. This library is one of the few among art institutions receiving a special funding for social sciences from the government. In addition, a large number of collections are donated by social organizations, publishers, individuals and CAFA faculties each year, which has greatly enriched the collection resources.
The library has set up four reading rooms. They are for art books, social science books and magazines, multi-media and books from a special funding of social sciences, which are open or half open to readers. The management of book influx is automatic. ISBN was set up for collecting art information, providing electronic reading, which has highly met up with the need of readers.
